SuperGrid Institute is proud to announce that Majededdine MOUSTAID was awarded the HEFAT 2019 Outstanding Paper Award for their “Study of convective condensation in a thermosiphon loop”, in the “heat exchangers 2” session. Congratulations for this well-deserved recognition! This study was a collaboration between SuperGrid Institute, Ampère Laboratory & LaTEP.

Every year the French chapter of IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), in collaboration with SEE (Society of Electricity, Electronics and Information and Communication Technologies), recognises outstanding PhD theses and hands out the “outstanding engineer of the year” prize at an annual evening ceremony. This Wednesday the 9th of October, Ahmed Zama was honoured with the IEEE “Doctorate Award” for his thesis work on “Modeling and Control of Modular Multilevel Converters (MMCs) for HVDC applications”.

This Tuesday, the 24th of September, the Villeurbanne Inter-company Challenge took place in Parc Miribel, France. Once again, SuperGrid Institute took part in the relay race with 8 registered teams and for the first time, they claimed a place on the podium! Congratulations to Anaïs, Carole, Eleonore and Kirsty, who won first place in the women’s team category with a time of 0h46'35''.
This year, for the first time our presence at PCIM Europe 2019, was noticeable with our stand from 6th to 9th May. At the conference, and as power electronics is at the heart of our innovations, SuperGrid Institute was invited to present during the « Smart Transformers » special session.
SuperGrid Institute was pleased to host the LISORE consortium plenary meeting this Wednesday. This 15-month project that began in January 2019 aims to explore the feasibility and develop a technological roadmap from which innovative low-cost substations can be developed, thereby enabling the integration of marine energies by 2025. By participating and organising this day, SuperGrid Institute has increased its visibility and positioned itself as an expert partner in the domain of innovative electrical systems. The visit of our test platforms enabled us to demonstrate to the project participants how we are supporting the development of the sector through our expertise and state of the art facilities.
