Participation of SuperGrid to the ISH 2017 Conference
For 40 years, the biannual conference ISH (International Symposium on High Voltage Engineering) has permitted to researchers all around the world to meet and share their research in the high voltage field. The 2017 edition took place from August 28 to September 01 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
An article entitled « Measurement and Analysis of Partial Discharges in HVDC Gas Insulated Substations » was submitted and selected for an oral presentation. This article presents the PhD thesis work of Etienne Ouss about partial discharges under direct current in gas insulated substations. The experiments conducted in SuperGrid are described, with original results: depending on the conditions (kind of defect, applied voltage magnitude and polarity, gas nature and pressure), different discharge modes can be observed. Some time-resolved partial discharges patterns were presented, which are promising in the perspective of building an automated defect recognition defect tool.
The article has been selected with two others by the chairman of the conference for later publication in CSE journal (CIGRE Science & Engineering).
