SuperGrid Institute is back on the INPI podium
14th June 2022 – SuperGrid Institute is back on the French National Institute of Industrial Property’s (INPI) podium
SuperGrid Institute is back on the INPI podium, taking second place in the ranking of SME patent applicants in France, in tied position with Isorg, with 16 new patent applications in 2021. The institute for energy transition, which specialises in direct current, also retains its position in the Top 10 companies that co-filed patents resulting from collaboration between industry, academia and/or public research, making it the only SME to have ranked in this category, with 7 co-filed patent applications in 2021.
SuperGrid Institute has notably maintained an ongoing presence in the SME rankings over the last 4 years: 1st in 2018, 2nd in 2019, 4th in 2020 and 2nd in 2021. The company, which is based in Villeurbanne (Lyon), has 69 patent families which are used to consolidate the company’s expertise in developing the electricity networks of the future and integrating renewable energy into these networks. Since its creation in 2014, SuperGrid Institute has filed 90 patent applications with the French National Institute of Industrial Property and has completed more than 164 patent extensions to cover its innovations internationally.
