This Thursday, the 27th of August, Juan-Carolos Gonzalez will propose solutions for using HVDC grids to enhance the transient stability of the surrounding AC grids in his paper “Dynamic control of embedded HVDC to contribute to transient stability enhancement” during C2 paper session 2. Next week, Alberto BERTINATO will present his paper “Assessment of protection strategy options for future DC grids” in session B4, on Tuesday the 1^st of September. This paper proposes a set of measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to demonstrate how effective a protection strategy is at achieving key objectives. Three categories of KPI are identified: effectiveness, failure and cost indicators.

Finally, don’t miss Caterina Toigo’s presentation on Wednesday the 2nd of September in D1 paper session 2 entitled “Measurement and behaviour of partial discharge for SF6 substitute gases in HVDC GIS/GIL”.
