Open doors for the Fête de la Science 2024 at SuperGrid Institute!
We’re opening our doors again this year for the Fête de la Science. On Saturday the 12th of October, we’re inviting the public to come and visit our Institute and find out more about our work for energy transition. During the week, from the 7th to the 11th of October, we’ll be welcoming school groups to encourage the next generation to take an interest in the professions in the energy sector!
Scientific discoveries about energy for the Fête de la Science in Villeurbanne
Our engineers, technicians, mechanics and creatives have been racking their brains to bring you new interactive experiments and let you discover the fundamentals of electricity, its production, transmission and the technologies needed to deliver it to us safely via the power grid!
This year’s science festival theme… Ocean of Knowledge! For us, the word ocean leads us to think about offshore wind turbines! Come and find out about the challenges of transporting energy from wind farms far out at sea to our homes, and help our engineers invent the best solutions!
A behind-the-scenes look at an Institute for Energy Transition
During the week, we’re shining the spotlight on the different professions we have at the Institute, to show that everyone can find their place in the energy transition and to inspire our young visitors with what our team does here on a daily basis… developing the electricity grid of the future to integrate renewable energies on a large scale!
Not only is this event very popular with our colleagues and visitors, it’s also a valuable opportunity to reach out and teach young people and members of the public about our work on energy transition.

Listen carefully to our experts and try to find the code to power SuperGrid City’s electricity network! Decode and solve problems around how to transmit the energy produced from renewable sources to avoid an imminent energy crisis.

‘SURVIVAL GAME
Take part in our escape game on energy, developed by our engineers! You have 45 minutes to solve as many puzzles and challenges as possible, in a coordinated effort to save the planet from global warming!

Visit our impressive test facilities! Visits every half-hour in groups of 15 – no need to book in advance.
